Why am I not losing weight on keto? Are you sure your carb limit is right?
Lots of people on a diet need to track everything they eat and make sure that the amount of carbs they eat during the day does not go over 20 grams. They also could be forgetting how much is in recipes. If you keep doing these things, you should start losing weight in a few more days!
Carbohydrates are usually not allowed on low-carb and keto diets. Some people can eat 50g per day, but most people need to limit carbs to 1-2 days a week. A keto diet is about regulating insulin levels by not eating sugar or grain, which leaves fat free mass to make ketones, When insulin is high, glucagon will be low. This turns glucose into glycogen in the liver through a process called gluconeogenesis. This is why it’s important to eat protein and fat when you’re on a low-carb diet!
When you go over the limit of your carb limit, insulin goes up and you will be storing fat again.
When I’m hungry on keto, I usually have a snack to keep my energy high enough so that I won’t munch on something else.
The way to lose weight is by not eating in one day an average of 500-1000 calories. This is easy to do with keto, but you also need to watch how many carbs you’re eating in a day.
